Wesley Mission is seeking a volunteer immigration Solicitor to provide immigration law advice to clients of Wesley Community Legal Service. Wesley Community Legal Service is a free service available throughout New South Wales by telephone, email and in person.

As a volunteer immigration Solicitor you will be providing immigration law advice to clients and perform the associated ad hoc admin tasks.

About the role

• able to independently handle work for clients on a range of common visas including skilled migration, partner visas, parent visas, employer sponsored visas, student or graduate visas and visitor visas;
• counselling and advising prospective clients on their immigration pathways;
• critically review client information and documents and maintain proper comprehensive records and documentation; and
• preparing visa applications, related forms and documentary evidence.

Requirements

• Semi-retired or retired solicitor wanting to give back to the community
• Unrestricted practising certificate from the Law Society
• 5+ years post qualification experience in migration law
• ability to work effectively with people at all levels in a polished and friendly manner;
• strong communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills; and
• high attention to detail.
