This role would suit someone (living in the Townsville region) who has some background knowledge, history or understanding of bookkeeping and financial reporting, and would relish the opportunity to use their skills in the environmental not-for-profit sector. North Queensland Conservation Council is a strong voice for the environment, influencing, educating and inspiring our North Queensland (NQCC) community to achieve an ecologically sustainable society. We focus on climate change, biodiversity, National Parks protections and marine conservation issues. This would be a regular, ongoing role, for approximately 2-3 hours per week, working closely with our Treasurer. This will include helping to document & track account transactions, coordinate with the Treasurer to plan and evaluate NQCC's financial operations and assist with financial reporting. NQCC has recently changed over to using a “Cloud-based” financial program, called “QuickBooks Online” and so this would be an opportunity to gain experience with this program.

This role will allow the volunteer to:

• Provide assistance to allow NQCC maintain their financial records
• Obtain practical hands-on experience in using Quick Books Online (a cloud based accounting system)
• Work with a small and dedicated team of volunteers and staff who are passionate about protecting our environment
