The position of Assistant Director is demanding and challenging yet could be one of the most rewarding volunteer roles you ever do. We are looking for someone that is driven, passionate, committed, has fantastic communication, is a great leader, can think on their feet and loves a challenge. The successful person will need to be excellent at managing their time as this role requires 30 hours per week (yes 30!). Working closely with the Director, this role will cover all aspects of the charity such as fundraising, marketing, managing volunteers, event planning, public speaking, graphic design, web development, liaising with partner organisations in Kenya, writing policies and procedures and fulfilling government charity requirements just to name a few! Our Founder and Director currently commits 80 hours a week alongside working full time and studying her Masters. As the Charity grows so does her to do list. The 30 hours a week will be made up of one full day assisting the Director in Melbourne and the rest will be done working remotely so organisation, initiative and time management are key skill requirements. There will also be the requirement of travelling to Kenya one month per year to assist with the volunteer program. Everything apart from flights, insurance, visa, medical costs and spending money are provided. Although this is a demanding role, the impact you will be able to create by assisting this charity grow to the next level is immeasurable.
