Our 16-week volunteer program is designed to facilitate learning within a collaborative office environment, as well as offer practical experience working on events administration & marketing. The volunteer program also provides valuable opportunities for students / graduates to network with professionals in Sydney’s thriving startup ecosystem.

The Marketing/Events + Admin Volunteer will complement the Coordinator's role in marketing efforts and external promotion of The Studio, its facilities & events relevant to the startup community and creative sector through digital channels & print.

You will also help by undertaking a variety of administrative tasks & practical daily activities directly contributing to the production and operational requirements of The Studio, reporting to the Community & Events Coordinator.

The role is suited to an enthusiastic and energetic person who is interested in jumping into a fast-paced environment, and willing to do what it takes in order to get the job done.

This position is apt to someone with strong interest in digital/ social media marketing and can demonstrate excellent written skills, effective visual communication skills, & strong verbal communications skills.

Administrative skills & attention to detail are essential in conducting online research, doing documentations, scheduling, booking, updating and monitoring. The role will help feel residents & guests welcomed & valued through exceptional customer service & people skills applied in the performance of concierge duty.

Skills Required: We are looking for volunteers with the following skills, qualifications or experience to fill this volunteer role: (1) A basic understanding of social media marketing using Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter; (2) Intermediate skills in using Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite; (3) Exceptional attention to detail; (4) Ability to follow directions carefully; (5) Proficient in using Mac/PC and can do self-directed learning of new technical tools/ softwares/ applications; (6) Nimble and quick to adapt, self-learn and improve; (7) Strong visual design skills (8) Engaging writing skills (9) Excellent customer service skills

** Desirable Skills: ** (a) Proficiency in using WordPress; (b) Intermediate HTML, PHP and/or other web development scripting language skills for doing backend modifications of WordPress sites; (c) At least 3 months accumulated or continuous experience in using Canva; (d) At least 3 months experience in creating & editing newsletters using Mailchimp/ Active Campaign; (e) Demonstrated interest in events management and digital marketing; (f) Familiarity with the startup environment

Hours: 8am - 4pm OR 9am - 5pm, min 2 days per week; Mondays - Fridays
