A member of the WHO Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities and Communities, is seeking Volunteers to assist with their Ageing Strategy and Action Plan for the Liverpool LGA. This will involve conducting phone surveys with seniors living in the Liverpool area, to see what age-friendly improvements and ideas are suggested and can be implemented, providing the basis for their continued Positive Ageing Action Plan.

About The Role:

  • Conduct a phone survey with older people that seeks feedback and ideas on physical, social and economic aspects of the Liverpool community that influence the health and wellbeing of older people
  • Volunteers are supplied with a script to follow and will record senior’s feedback on an online survey form
  • It is preferred that Volunteers live locally, so they have some knowledge of the Liverpool LGA
  • Due to the nature of the role, a good command of the English language, both written and verbal, is essential
  • The role will be undertaken remotely and requires phone and internet access
  • Time commitment is up to 15 hours per week, over 6 weeks, between Monday 20th July 2020 and Friday 28th August 2020
  • All Volunteers must attend an online briefing session, in business hours, during the week of Monday 13th July to Friday 17th July
  • All Volunteers must have a current Police Check before commencement of role

About You:

  • Active listening skills
  • Clear voice and confident with reading a questionnaire verbatim
  • Ability to communicate well and establish a rapport with seniors
  • Accuracy when recording information
  • Digital literacy skills
  • Understanding of confidentiality and adherence to Organisation’s policy on same
  • A genuine interest in seniors and their welfare
  • Willingness to obtain a Police Check (at own expense - approx $60)
  • Must be over 18 years of age
