Fruit & Vege Run 10:30am - 2:30pm approximately Monday - 1 opening

Fruit & Vege Run volunteers drive our Kaarakin ute off site 3 times a week to pick up fresh food donations at both Coles & Woolworths in Forrest Lakes. This food is then brought back to our centre for sorting and preparation. Suitable food is sorted into daily containers and some chopped for immediate use with our Black Cockatoos, Emus & Parrot Aviaries. Unuseable food is taken to our compost pile. Must be able to lift large vegetable trays, and work in a team of 2 people. Driver's Licence (class C) is required, as is signing a Driving Agreement. Use of ATV's on site is also part of the position. Some direct animal feeding may occur but is not a regular part of this role. Volunteers are able to visit & interact with resident birds however. Training is provided by experienced volunteers.

Must be over the age of 25 years for vehicle insurance purposes.

Long term availability is desired of at least 6 months. With the training involved and heavy reliance we place on our Vege Run volunteers to take care of our fresh food for the animals, longer term availability is required.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
