Children who come to our club are from disadvantaged families.  Their lives have been impacted by trauma and often their learning has been interrupted.  Most are behind their grades and need a lot of support to engage in learning activities. Tutors would be asked to attend the centre every Tuesday from 4pm to 5:30pm. We need very patient, understanding and loving people who are willing to get to know the child they are tutoring. Tutors become part of a group of passionate people who come because they care about the children.  Children really appreciate their tutors who they see as role models and someone they can trust.  Of course volunteers need to have a Working with children check Number and must also read and sign our children protection policy and procedures.
