Salutations everyone! Thank you for your interest in becoming an Ophthalmic Photographer for the South Western Eye and Diabetes Deep Learning Algorithm Study (SWEDDLAS)! As part of this clinical research, you will part of a multi-disciplinary team that sees patients with diabetes presenting to Endocrine clinics at Campbelltown Hospital. The Ophthalmic photographer will take photos of people’s eyes using a specialised camera. Initially, you will be trained by an Ophthalmologist (eye doctor) to take these photos and once competent, can operate independently. This position would suit a university student, a postgraduate researcher, a healthcare employee or a photographer.

Requirements:

  • Must present a professional appearance and be able to work in a team
  • Must be reliable and punctual
  • Be courteous and personable when dealing with patients
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality of healthcare data
  • Have basic computer and photography skills (will be trained on the job)
  • Prior optical/ophthalmology experience is not necessary
  • Current National Police Check
  • Current Working with Children Check
