Volunteering Australia (VA) is the National peak body for volunteering working to advance volunteering in the Australian community. Our mission is to lead, strengthen, promote and celebrate volunteering in Australia.

Our Volunteer Program plays an important role in supporting us to achieve our strategic goals and enhancing our ability to advocate for volunteers across Australia, by complementing the skills and resources of paid staff. Volunteers are not used as an alternative to paid employment or to displace paid staff.

As a research and policy analyst, you will have the opportunity to develop the evidence base for Volunteering Australia’s policy and advocacy work. The work will include reviewing and analysing volunteering data and research and contributing to policy development. Good research and writing skills are needed.

Activities might include:

  • Research and draft ‘Evidence Insights’ briefings and/or Factsheets.
  • Review current volunteering research (domestic and international) around key topics.
  • Draft ‘Research Digests’ of specific research reports/academic articles.
  • Research and draft ‘Policy Explainers’ on key policy issues relating to volunteering.
  • Develop case-study stories to populate our case-study database.
