The Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) is a national program that is funded by the Australian Government. It aims to enrich the quality of life for people who may be experiencing social isolation or loneliness.  The CVS Volunteer is responsible for providing regular social visits in a one-on-one or group capacity to residents of an aged care facility who are isolated or at risk of experiencing isolation.

  • Due to COVID-19, all face to face visits have been postponed. Visits will now be done through virtual visits such as phone calls, video chats, letters or cards..

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Ideally we are looking for someone who has:

- Great communication and listening skills

- A friendly disposition

- Understanding of the elderly

- Can be trusted with confidential information

- Have a commitment to building and sustaining a friendship with an older isolated person over an extended period of time

ABOUT PARRAMATTA MISSION

Parramatta Mission provides meals, accommodation and mental health services across Greater Western Sydney, with almost 500 staff and many volunteers delivering more than 70 services. We provide assistance to the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in our communities to assist them in transforming their lives. These include people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, facing crisis and people living with mental illness.
