About the opportunity

The State Partnerships Coordinator is responsible for developing and managing external stakeholder relationships with key community organisations, NGO’s, governments and businesses across Victoria.

The State Partnerships Coordinator contributes to and helps implement a comprehensive strategic partnerships and sponsorship plan in Queensland, and is the designated contact for one or more of OFA's Queenlsand partners.

The State Partnerships Coordinator is accountable for building relationships with key stakeholders and creating funding sources within Queensand to help Out for Australia achieve its mission and vision. This includes leading the recruitment and retention of Queensland-based financial sponsors and other sources of income for Out for Australia, including major gifts, services, public/private grants and individual donations. It also includes the establishment and development of strategic non-financial Queensland partnerships which will equally support Out for Australia in achieving our mission and vision.

Responsibilities

**Partnership team related responsibilities**

  • You will be responsible for managing OFA’s relationship with our Queensland-based partner firms and organisations in accordance with the OFA Partnerships Coordinator Bible, including:
    • Responding to day-to-day enquiries;
    • engagement of partners for events;
    • negotiation of sponsorship;
    • In person or phone/Skype meetings with the sponsors as requested.

**General Volunteer responsibilities** Additionally, the State Partnerships Coordinator will undertake the following general volunteer obligations:

  • Assisting with the development and delivery of OFA events and workshops 
  • Assisting team members or leading specific projects
  • Maintain and develop professional community, corporate and university relationships 
  • Understand Out for Australia’s strategy and be a positive ambassador for the organisation
  • Participate in State Team meetings (1 meeting per month, attend one-on-one meetings with the State Director (1 meeting per month) and assist with miscellaneous projects where required.

**Qualities and attributes we are looking for in a volunteer for this role**

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and organisational skills;
  • Experience managing stakeholders, for example through university clubs and societies or through work experience;
  • Experience in negotiating with, implementing and managing partnerships, or partnership-like arrangements with sponsors;
  • A commitment to furthering diversity and inclusion in the workplace and time to volunteer; and
  • A “can-do” attitude, keenness, openness to learn new skills, and to apply your existing ones.
