Pets Of The Homeless
Logo for Pets Of The Homeless

About Pets of the Homeless Pets Of The Homeless (POTH) help keep vulnerable people and their pets together by alleviating the burden of providing essential pet care during times of hardship. We believe that the companionship and the therapeutic value of pets is immeasurable and nothing should come between a loving owner and their pet. Not homelessness. Not financial hardship. Not domestic violence. Pets are family – and nothing should stand in the way of that.

About the Role As an early stage start-up, we’re currently seeking grants and other funding opportunities to provide the seed funding we need to grow. To help us with this, we’re looking for a proactive, enthusiastic, results-driven individual to seek out grant and funding opportunities, and to work closely with the CEO to write and prepare grant applications. We’re looking for a team member who believes deeply in what we do, knows how to sell a strong and compelling vision, and is excited about attracting the resources we need to bring our vision to life.

Key Responsibilities The role includes but is not limited to:

  • Search for and identify grants and funding opportunities
  • Manage the grant proposal calendar and maintain current pipeline to reflect all grant activities.
  • Write and prepare grant proposals and funding requests in close consultation with the CEO, prepare supporting documents and prepare grant acquittals.

Requirements Grant writing experience and a proven track record in successfully acquiring grants/funding.

  • You will need great organisational, analytical and research skills and the ability to execute complex instructions.
  • Must be reliable and proactive.
  • Exceptional English grammatical and writing skills.
  • Good IT knowledge particularly with Google Drive (Docs and Sheets)
  • Preferably someone with a strong knowledge of government and not for profit legislation and grant writing.
  • Time requirements are flexible, however we estimate the role would require 5 hours per week.
  • As this is a skilled volunteer position we would appreciate you forwarding a cover letter and your CV.
  • The successful candidate will need to complete a police check.
You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
