You can be a part of this by volunteering just a few hours per week as a Retail Community Collections Drivers Assistant.

The Ipswich Family Store is seeking a mature and responsible person to join the team as a Driver Assistant and support the Family Store Truck Driver with large donation pickups from the community.  The applicant should be capable of assisting with moving heavy items and able to represent the Salvation Army in a positive manner.

The tasks associated with the Driver Assistant role include:

  • Pick-up and delivery service
  • Quality control of donations
  • Assist with repairing a variety of items from furniture restoration to testing electrical items.

Personal Qualities/Attributes Required for the Role

  • Experience in customer service or retail preferred, but not essential.
  • Experience in a similar role such as furniture removal advantageous, but not essential.
  • Valid drivers licence an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Punctual and reliable with a friendly and positive disposition.
  • Able to work in a team and autonomously when required.
  • A respect and willingness to work within the ethos of The Salvation Army.
