Corporate Partner Galvaniser

The Victoria Chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB) is committed to EWB’s mission to provide everyone with the engineering knowledge and resources required for them to live a life of opportunity and meet their self-defined needs.

We provide meaningful volunteering opportunities and coordinate activities on a regional scale for university students, professionals and employees of our corporate partners. We work directly with communities in Victoria and support EWB’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Program and International Programs. We also provide EWB members with opportunities to grow and learn about working with communities, development practice and leadership.

EWB Victoria is looking for one volunteer to fulfill the role of the Corporate Partner Galvanizer. The successful applicant will be expected to work with the EWB Victoria executive board to help, with individual EWB Partnership managers, oversee and manage the corporate partnerships in Victoria. Expected time requirement: Varies, on average 3-4 hours per week, plus attendance at monthly committee meetings.

Core responsibilities: ·       Communicates all EWB Region activities and opportunities for engagement with all Corporate Partner Champions in that region (with as much lead time as possible before activities – ideally 1-2 months as a minimum) ·       Identifies opportunities for collaboration between Corporate Partners and the Region Chapter ·       Integrate the short, medium and long term goals of interest groups into the Region planning and dialog. Advocates for all the official Corporate Partners on the Chapter Committee ·       Facilitates regular two-way communication between the corporate partners, and also between the corporate partners and the university chapters ·       Facilitates knowledge sharing between Corporate Partners through formal and informal events as well as with University Chapters through bi-annual collaboration forums ·       Attend quarterly Galvaniser catch-up’s hosted by EWB’s Director Supporters / Corporate Partnership Manager to provide an update on your region and learn from other regions ·       Update EWB’s Communications Coordinator as the EWB Region Fundraising team on any fundraising initiatives that corporate partners are involved with

Core competencies: ·       Highly organised ·       Strong communication skills both written and verbal ·       Proactive in communicating the interests of corporate partners to the Region Chapter ·       Identifies any challenges interest groups or partnerships are having as barriers to engagement. Communicates these to Region Committee as well as EWB Corporate Partnership Manager. ·       Engaged with the mission and planning of both the EWB Region Chapter as well as each of the Corporate Partner interest groups in their region ·       Thorough understanding of EWB’s partnership philosophy

NOTE: All discussions regarding possible financial contributions from corporate partners, new partnerships / sponsorships, partnership agreements and any risks that you have identified (no matter how small or large) need to be discussed with EWB’s Director of Supporters / EWB’s Corporate Partnership Manager.
