Wildlife Shelter Helper
Australian Animal Rescue Inc.Australian Animal Rescue are seeking Shelter Helpers for our Wildlife Shelter in Frankston. We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated Helpers, who have a basic understanding of animal husbandry, and can follow strict protocols and direction.
Key duties will include:
- Clean out cages
- Cut and prepare food for wildlife
- Maintaining animal care equipment/laundry
- Assist with basic gardening and yard clean-up
- Follow and adhere to all shelter and OHS rules
- Wear any provided PPE
- Assist with any admin work as needed
Requirements:
- A Current Volunteer Police Check (About $29)
- A Volunteer WWC (Free)
- Current Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable transport
- Up to date with a Tetanus Vaccination
- Excellent understanding of English language
- Basic knowledge and understanding of Animal Husbandry
- Self-motivated, able to accept and follow strict protocols
- Good level of fitness required, for lifting, bending and/or working outdoors
Accessibility: Ramp, but limited wheelchair access inside. OT approved clothesline
Australian Animal Rescue:
Australian Animal Rescue Incorporated (AAR) is a volunteer-run, non-profit registered charity. Established in 2009 after the Black Saturday Bushfires, a small group of dedicated volunteers spent 3 months rescuing wildlife and providing food and supplies to people and animals.
AAR specialises, not only in wildlife animals, but also domestic animal rescues and adoptions. AAR operates 7 days a week and provides animal rescue and information services throughout Victoria. AAR can provide training and a happy, positive volunteering environment.
