About the opportunity

This is a critical role in the OFA ecosystem, the purpose of which  is to assist the Chief Executive role directly with administration and strategy related tasks. You will primarily be in charge of providing structure and organisation for the activities of the CEO and, indirectly, the National Executive (the OFA C-Suite). While the role is primarily administrative (scheduling meetings, proofing and saving documents, taking minutes), your team members will be the most senior people at OFA and you will be directly involved in the most high level, strategic conversations in the organisation. This could be a challenging but rewarding experience to learn ‘by osmosis’ for a person who is new to the charity space, or a young person wanting to gain experience in a fast paced professional environment.

About you Required skills and experience

  • impeccable organisational skills and keen eye for detail
  • demonstrated experience  administrative functions such as scheduling meetings, taking minutes and drafting/proofing documents
  • familiarity with the Google Suite 
  • strong written communication skills

Desired skills and experience

  • familiarity with Zoom meetings
  • strong oral communication skills and the confidence to challenge the ideas of people around you
  • a desire to learn more about the charity space

Responsibilities

  • Administration
    • scheduling
      • monthly National Executive Zoom meetings
      • bimonthly whole of organisation Zoom meetings
      • other ad hoc meetings as requested by the CEO
    • taking and circulating minutes at the meetings listed above
    • drafting emails to stakeholders such as corporate partners and internal team members
    • proof checking documents such as strategies, position descriptions and board reports
    • from time to time, organising files on the Google Drive 
    • provide ad hoc support at events 
  • Strategy
    • you will be invited to National Executive meetings and have the opportunity to provide advice on new ideas and strategies developed by the CEO and the National Executive
    • you will do research on various topics to do with charities and present it to the CEO and the National Executive, and sometimes, the Board
    • you wll have ad hoc meetings with the CEO where you will provide your view on various high level strategic issues facing the organisation
