About the Role Pets Of The Homeless (POTH) is currently seeking a highly motivated person to join the organisation as the Intersection Collection Coordinator. POTH runs between 8-10 intersection collection/tin rattling events per year. The Intersection Collection Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of our monthly fundraising event, from applying for appropriate permits to recruiting volunteers and attending the event. We are looking for someone who is passionate about human and animal welfare/rights and contributing to the expansion of our fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities The role includes but is not limited to:

  • Apply for the necessary council and police permits to carry out fundraiser
  • Recruit volunteers for the monthly fundraiser (held on Sundays from March to November, inner suburbs of Melbourne)
  • Attend the monthly fundraiser to supervise volunteers (10am to 3pm)
  • Pick up and drop off supplies as well as funds raised to our HQ in Cheltenham.

Requirements

  • Be able to commit to one Sunday for 6-7 hours, once a month (March to November) plus additional hours to apply for the necessary permits and to recruit volunteers.
  • An interest in fundraising
  • Fit and active as this role would require you to be on your feet for at least 5 straight hours during the fundraiser.
  • Great people and communication skills
  • Must hold a valid Victorian drivers licence and be willing to use your own car.
