Are you an organised, methodical worker with an eye for detail? The WA NILS service at Anglicare WA are looking for 1-3 skilled and dedicated volunteers to work with their team on archiving their old documents in preparation for a move to a new location.

About Your Role: Our WA NILS team will shortly be moving into a new office space. As a service that involves a lot of paperwork, the team currently have a significant amount of documentation that needs to be archived before they are able to complete the move, and are looking for 1-3 organised, motivated volunteers with a keen eye for detail who are interested in assisting the team to complete this archiving project. Good record keeping is of the highest importance to Anglicare WA, and this role will be making a significant contribution to the team by ensuring all client data is digitised, filed and disposed securely and confidentially.

Key Duties and Responsibilities of this role Your regular duties throughout an average day will involve: • Organising client files ready for scanning • Scanning and filing documents following the specified guidelines and naming conventions • Securely destroying/disposing of hard copies of documents once digitized

Depending on the workload and successful candidates for this volunteer role, you may be working alongside another volunteer, dividing the above tasks, or you may be working alone. You will always have access to and be supported by the WA NILS team members.

Key Timing and Requirements • This will be a short-term, project role, with the number of shifts and hours dependent on when all of the records have been archived. • We are looking for volunteers available to assist within regular working hours (9-4.30pm) on Fridays • Length of volunteer shifts within that time period is negotiable.

About You: Your Knowledge and Experience People interested in volunteering as a volunteer archivist should enjoy working both independently and alongside others and possess following skills or attributes: • Attention to detail • Strong organizational skills • Ability to follow documented procedures consistently • Ability to work autonomously and alongside others • Respect and concern for confidentiality

However, the most important thing we are looking for is someone who shares and models Anglicare WA’s values, who is a motivated and friendly team player and who has a willingness to learn.

Screening and Checks Essential Before commencing all volunteers will need to: • Hold a National Police Clearance valid within the last 12 months, or be willing to apply for one. (If you do not have one of these, we can assist you to apply.) • Complete Anglicare WA’s volunteer induction steps and training.
