External, independent Board Director

National Rural Health Alliance Ltd

The National Rural Health Alliance (NRHA) is Australia’s peak non-government organisation for rural and remote health.  NRHA is comprised of 44 national organisations. We are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of the 7 million people in rural and remote Australia. Our members include consumer groups (such as the Country Women’s Association of Australia), representation from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health sector, health professional organisations (representing doctors, nurses and midwives, allied health professionals, dentists, pharmacists, optometrists, paramedics, health students, chiropractors and health service managers) and service providers (such as the Royal Flying Doctor Service).

The NRHA Board currently comprises of 8 elected directors. The vision of NRHA is for healthy and sustainable rural, regional and remote communities. To achieve this vision NRHA are seeking two external directors who have high-level skills in one or more of the following areas:

  • business
  • finance
  • governance
  • philanthropy

NRHA seeks expressions of interest from suitably skilled individuals to be appointed to the Board of Directors.   To be eligible for appointment as an external Director, you must:

  • be nominated by a member of the NRHA, or a member representative;
  • give the NRHA your signed consent to act as a director of the NRHA, and
  • not be ineligible to be a director under the Corporations Act or the ACNC Act.

The term of appointment to the Board shall be for a period of up to two years, with eligibility for reappointment.
