RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

• Must be able to maintain privacy and confidentiality
• Good clear communication skills
• Ability to engage in conversation with people who may have cognitive, visual/hearing loss and/or other physical disabilities
• Understanding & awareness of the needs of people with disabilities, dementia and/or ageing issues or willingness to learn
• Flexible, motivated, and enthusiastic, be physically fit
• Be willing to support resident movement (walking with residents/ pushing wheelchairs) to and from therapy area/ gym for physio appointments
• Support residents to complete walking programs under the direction of physiotherapists
• Other duties as directed by physiotherapists

Requirement:

• Must be prepared to undertake mandatory training as required including wheelchair training (no lift policy)
• Adhere to WHS requirements, Helping Hand procedure & policies
• Must have or be willing to apply for a National Police Clearance (no cost)
• Have current seasonal flu vaccination with certificate.
