Youth Futures Summit Volunteer

National Youth Commission

About the National Youth Commission (NYC)

The National Youth Commission (NYC) is an independent community-led inquiry into youth employment and transitions. We would like to see a world where every young person is in meaningful education or employment. For the past year, the NYC has been running public hearings, focus groups, and collecting written submissions from across the country on how we can address the problems that young people experience transitioning into employment.

About the Youth Futures Summit

In April, we will be hosting the Youth Futures Summit over two days at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) that will bring together hundreds of people nationally across multiple sectors and communities. These two days will include a number of keynote speakers, breakout sessions, panels, performances, and other exciting activities. The Summit will be a space to share the NYC’s interim findings and gather more evidence for the inquiry into youth employment. It will also bring together a community of people committed to the issues impacting young people so that we can begin to design a new ecosystem for youth employment and transitions.

To run the best event we can, we need a team of awesome young people to help us.

What you get out of volunteering:

  • You’ll be able to attend a number of the sessions at the Youth Futures Summit for free and hear from our incredible line-up of speakers,
  • Training and development with opportunities to upskill in a number of areas, including event operations, talent support, stage management and much more! You’ll also learn all about the NYC and the work we do,

  • The opportunity to contribute to a national inquiry on issues impacting more than half a million young people across the country, and
  • Be apart of a like-minded community of people who are passionate about young people and their potential.
