Logo for Canberra International Music Festival

Canberra International Music Festival is supported by an army of generous volunteers, who have won praise from Festival patrons and performers alike for their friendliness and helpfulness. This year we are hoping to boost the number of drivers for our performers. Drivers generally need to be able to use their own car and be willing to transport performers and their instruments from their hotels or billets for rehearsals and performances. Driving is the perfect job for those who know our city, are flexible, interested in people and chatting to visitors to our city. As drivers shifts are often busy, we try to recompense them with tickets to other concerts.

Volunteers will need to attend a short orientation session in the week before the festival and volunteer for a number of sessions to provide continuity.

Our volunteer drivers are part of the visitors' experience, part of the team effort to make musicians welcome and confident that they are in good hands. Their contribution will facilitate the creative flows immensely. And we can assure you that as a volunteer, you will have a great time being a part of the Festival team, getting to meet and work with some wonderful people!

Canberra International Music Festival is held over 12 days in the month of May each year and features concerts, lectures and films held in our national institutions and Canberra’s iconic architectural spaces. Canberra International Music Festival is a not-for-profit organisation with part-time and casual staff. The Festival could not run if we did not have so many people who are willing to give their time and goodwill for specific roles during and in the lead-up to the Festival.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
