This role involves attending Hornsby Local Court every second Wednesday of the month between 9-11am to provide information, referrals and support to court users (defendants, victims, family members etc). The role involves being positioned at a desk in the foyer of the court and assisting anyone that requires help. This can be a busy role on some days and requires engaging with court staff, members of the legal profession, interpreters and other services.

You will be provided with training and on-site mentoring to support you in the role. It would suit someone who is retired or can make a longer term commitment.

The role of Court Support volunteer involves face-to-face contact with a significant number of court users on a weekly basis. CRC and the courts have worked to develop a Covid safe arrangement for the volunteers. As part of the training for this role, you will receive instructions on how to stay safe from Covid-19.
