Palliative Care Program Volunteer Visitor - Able to speak Arabic
Southern Migrant & Refugee Centre(SMRC)The Southern Migrant and Refugee Centre Palliative Care Visiting Program provide one to one companionship and friendship to clients who live in their own homes and receiving Palliative Care services who are at risk of becoming socially isolated.
Clients and volunteers may participate in a variety of activities during home visits such as reading, playing board games and other agreed upon activities. You would be a caring person with warmth, compassion, integrity and be a great listener. You would have the ability to maintain confidentiality and keep boundaries.
Volunteers provide weekly or fortnightly visits for approximately 1 hour and need to be able to commit for at least 6 months.
Southern Migrant and Refugee Centre is currently seeking a volunteer who speaks Arabic to visit a woman who resides in Clarinda
A clear National Police Check is required and will be processed by Southern Migrant and Refugee Centre free of charge to the volunteer. A Working With Children Check is required. This program is funded by the Victorian Government through the Department of Health and Human Services
