Vinnies Community Hubs

Community Support Centres (Hubs) are a point of contact for people seeking assistance from the St Vincent de Paul Society. The Hub also provides services that support people to achieve stability in their lives through empowerment and self-determination for those who reside in the area.

As a Volunteer Client Support Officer, you will play a central role in the operations of the Hub, making a significant and valuable contribution to the Society.

The Volunteer Role

The Volunteer Administration Support provides full-service reception and office duties including:

• Providing exceptional customer service; 
• Maintaining high standards in all dealing with people seeking assistance, members and other stakeholders experience;
• Welcoming people seeking assistance & visitors to the Community Hub; 
• Informing people seeking assistance about Vinnies services; 
• General administration duties including filing, photocopying and emails; and 
• Building rapport with customers and stakeholders.

The volunteers we are seeking will ideally:

• Be a people person – welcoming, encouraging and positive; 
• Be willing to work within the ethos of the St Vincent de Paul Society; 
• Be respectful of others and flexible in their attitude to work and the team;
• Have general administration skills, and a willingness to learn; 
• Be initiative driven, reliable, punctual with a can-do attitude and sound decision making skills; 
• Be computer literate; and 
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills;

We welcome those with previous office and general administration experience to share their skills with their fellow volunteers in the Hub.
