Community Wheels Inc., located in Northmead, is a not-for-profit community transport organisation providing affordable and accessible transport services to residents living in the City of Parramatta and Cumberland Council areas. The organisation offers transport for medical appointments, shopping and social outings to people over 65 years, transport disadvantaged residents younger people with disabilities.

Community Wheels is urgently seeking volunteers to assist with high volume of incoming phone calls for transport bookings. The main responsibilities of the role include:

• Answer high volume of incoming phone calls from clients wanting to book transport
• Gather client details accurately on the phone and book their trips in the RouteMatch booking software
• Communicate clearly with clients with regards to their bookings including forward or return journeys
• Input bookings received through online booking system into RouteMatch
• Coordinate real-time with service operations team with regards to client bookings
• Assist office staff with mail outs, sending client welcome packs, filing, photocopying and general clerical tasks

Essential requirements for the role:

• Positive “can do” attitude
• Able to handle high call volume
• Excellent communication skills
• Good computer and typing skills
• Be passionate about the organisation’s mission and vision and what it does
• Have a caring attitude and pleasant phone mannerism
• Willing to learn and work independently and in a team
• Knowledge of a language other than English will be helpful
