Volunteer Drivers
Mount Gravatt Community CentreThe Mt Gravatt Community Centre has multiple opportunities for volunteer Drivers to assist with our FoodBank and Secondbite collections (for our food pantry) and occasional driving for our social group outings. Our volunteers are highly valued and appreciated!
The vehicle Small bus/van which seats 10-12 people. Automatic transmission and only requires a car driving licence.
Foodbank and Secondbite pick ups On Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursday mornings, our volunteer drivers and an assistant, collect food items from FoodBank at Morningside (Tuesdays and Thursdays) or Second Bite (Mondays) at Wakerley. Leaving the community centre between 8:30am and 9:00am, the van heads to FoodBank or Secondbite where the food is selected from the warehouse, loaded into the van and brought back to the community centre. Please note that lifting of food pallets and boxes is involved.
Social group outings Many of our social groups go on half day and full day social outings and our volunteer drivers ensure the group arrives safely at their destination and returned to the community centre after the day. We are looking for drivers who would be available approximately one or two days a month for these positions.
Or if you are available, we would love to have you as a FoodBank driver as well as for social outings.
