This role is primarily a strategic role, handling the oversight of the bank accounts, as well as the financial standing of the organisation. This position forms part of our Finance portfolio and reports to the CEO. As CFO, you will manage the Executive Treasure as part of the Finance portfolio. The Executive Treasurer position handles mostly operational tasks, such as transactions and payments.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Overseeing and devising financial policy and strategy.
• Management of YWB’s Executive Treasurer.
• Prepare the annual budget, liaising with the different YWB projects and teams to collate information and submitting this to the Board for approval
• Identifying opportunities to improve YWB’s financial position
• Financial transaction oversight
  • Developing systems for managing cash flow 
  • Overseeing permissions for access to the organisation’s funds
  • Monitoring any outstanding bills or debts throughout the year
  • Approving payments and reimbursements
• Lead preparation for the end of year financial audit, with assistance from the Executive Treasurer. 
• Provide Bi-Monthly financial reports to the Board of Directors, to keep the Board regularly informed of key financial events, trends, concerns, and assessment of fiscal health
• Prepare an end of year CFO report to the Board, summarizing the organisation’s financial position
• Reviewing the financial policies yearly in partnership with the Procedures and Policies Executive and the Executive Treasurer, amending and developing policies as required.
• Monitor, track and report any other activities relevant to the role which are not specified above
• Active participation in YWB’s National Executive Committee.
• Other duties as assigned

Key Result Areas

• Responsible management of YWB finances consistent with the strategy and key objectives of YWB
• Further enhancement of YWB financial systems and processes, with a focus on budget preparation and approval, and project oversight.
• Ensure that the Board has adequate oversight of the solvency of the organisation
• On time submission of Youth Without Borders’ externally audited (as required) EOFY financial records.
