As part of the Pimpama Island and Districts Community Centre Association, Woongoolba Hall is a historic building, built by locals in 1917 as a meeting place and dance hall to service the community. Its walls echo the enjoyment of past and present generations. It currently operates as a Wedding and Function Venue, and is available for Casual Hire. Catering, Styling, Co-ordination and equipment hire are also available. We also have regular community events, a monthly old style dance, Munchy Mondays sausage sizzle each Monday, and a home to the local Girl Guides.

The current building includes the original Hall, the old Norwell School (a building over 100 years old) that was added as an extension in the 70/80's and a current extension which provides additional storeroom space and office.

We are passionate about the history of our building and about having it sustain its existence, thus preserving it for use by generations to come. We are a group where if something needs doing we all tend to get in and do it.
Honesty, reliability and a passion for our heritage building is essential. Any background in Grant Writing or knowledge of best practices would be an advantage, but your dedication and pride in your work is of greater importance.

The key skills of a Grant Writer are: •Excellent written communication skills •Top-shelf research skills •Ability to understand our needsand the needs of the organisation that is offering the grant money •Great organisational skills •Being able to understand and execute complex instructions •Good computer skills

An important talent of any Grant Writer is excellent writing skills. It is preferable that Grant Writers have a Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or Marketing. However, volunteers with the right dedication and a good understanding of the written word will be considered.
