Position Summary

Good Neighbors Australia is seeking an experienced/senior Human Resource Policy Advisor(Voluntary) to play a crucial role in a growing and dynamic organisation. We, as a newly started NGO, welcome anyone with a start-up mindset who can play a pivotal role in shaping HR policies, procedures and guidelines. The HR policy advisor will also provide general human resources advice and support regarding industrial relations practices. This position would be suitable for an experienced or a retired HR officer who has a passion for making a good change for the world. An understanding of the not-for-profit sector is desirable.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to :

• Research and analysis of best practices for organisational HR policies in the Not-for-profit sector • Interpret legislation, awards, collective agreements and employment contracts, wage payment systems and dispute settlement procedures • Review and update existing HR policies to ensure the quality and compliance of HR documentations • Provide responsive and sound advice on HR matters, especially recruitment and conditions of service policies and practices

About You

• Have demonstrated knowledge and experience in human resource and organisational management in the Australian context • Have an understanding of and interest in helping vulnerable communities overseas • Have an ability to work with people from diverse background, attitudes and ways of thinking

Our Human Resource Policy Advisor(Voluntary) will play a crucial governance role in the organisation. You will join our multi-cultural team and work with other volunteers who are passionate about making a difference for the world. We expect you to contribute one day every fortnight for a minimum six month period.
