Roles and Responsibilities for the Treasurer

• Attend CFM meetings which are held approximately eight times per year; meetings are mainly bi-monthly; but extra meetings may be called as needed • Prepare regular financial reports for the meetings and for the Annual General Meeting • Advise the committee of management on financial risks, etc • Work with the Market Manager in collecting monies from stall holders – some stall holders use electronic banking, while others pay on market day (which is the first Sunday of each month except January and every Weds there is a smaller Market ) • Be a signatory on the account, pay accounts • Work with the CFM president

This role would be perfect for someone who: • Supports the values and mission of the CFM • Loves quality, seasonal food • Is currently in their final year of studies in accounting, is enthusiastic and would like an opportunity to use the position to form part of their case studies/assignments, OR • Is beginning a career in accounting, is enthusiastic and wants to have an opportunity to put lessons learned into practice. This could become part of a resume, OR • Is retiring and would love to share their wisdom and give back to the community

The committee is formed from a mix of community members, market stall holders, and local farmers. We all have a passion for food as well as for supporting local farmers and small businesses.
