The program

Red Cross is implementing a community based program in the prison system. Participants of this program benefit through care and support on release. The Volunteer Mentor position aims to provide this support and guidance to assist the participants to pursue positive lifestyles. Mentors will be matched with participants and support them for up to 6 months.

The opportunity

The Volunteer Mentor position provides peer to peer support, allowing the participants to be linked to a positive role model, a neutral voice providing guidance, to pursue a positive lifestyle that minimizes future risk of re-offending.

The impact

The Volunteer Mentor will proactively impact on the participants attainment of a positive lifestyle. Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the worlds largest humanitarian organisation.
