REPORTS TO Fundraising Coordinator - QLD
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Use your great communication skills to secure items from a variety of businesses that will be auctioned to fundraise at various events. All funds raised from the auctioned prizes go directly to supporting families facing cancer providing essential assistance from point of diagnosis, throughout treatment and beyond.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include:
- Directly contacting businesses to secure auction items for fundraising events throughout the year
- Administration tasks
- Data entry
- Research new business opportunities
You will be provided with:
- Phone and email scripts for requesting prizes
- CRM Training (Salesforce)
- Administration and fundraising experience
- Written references (on request)
- Opportunity to learn from industry professionals in an encouraging work environment
- Ongoing support from allocated supervisor and Volunteer Coordinator
EXPERIENCE
To be considered for this role the following is desired:
- Professional and confident phone manner
- Attention to detail
- Experience in data entry
- Research skills
- Competence with Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Suite
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
To be considered for this volunteer role you must:
- Be 18 or over
- Be punctual and reliable
- Work well as part of a team
- Confident and willing to as for prize donations (via phone and email)
- Have effective listening and verbal communication skills
- Be calm and empathetic, even in circumstances where others are upset or distressed
- Ensuring confidentiality of clients’ personal information
- Have a commitment to acquiring necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies to best support the team
- A willingness to act in accordance with both Redkite organisational volunteer policies, procedures, code of conduct and relevant legislative requirements (these will be provided)
