Admin Support Officer (Volunteer)

Townsville Enterprise

Position Overview: The Admin Support Office will assist the Visitor Services Executive with tasks related to the Volunteer Program, Visitor Information Centres and Bookeasy online reservation system.

Townsville Enterprise is currently in the process of relocating their Bruce Highway Visitor Information Centre to a new location at Elliot Springs. The Admin Support Officer will be assisting this project and the day to day operations of the Centres.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the Rosters for the VIC's
  • Researching Gift and Merchandise lines
  • Updating the Brochure Management system
  • Entering and Collating Visitor Statistics
  • Creating and Updating a Monthly Volunteer Newsletter
  • Liaising with local operators listed on Bookeasy
  • Preparing information for dissemination
  • Updating resources and documents
  • Updating Volunteer Profiles and Filing Paperwork
  • Assisting with the coordination of famils, product workshops and training sessions

Skills Required:

  • Excellent customer service
  • Well-developed communication skills - Written and Verbal
  • Developed knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and ask for direction when required 
  • Outgoing, friendly personality
  • Ability to communicate with people of differing ages and nationalities
  • Marketing or Design experience is highly desirable
  • Point of Sale and Booking system experience is desirable

This position is an unpaid volunteer role and will be based at the Townsville Enterprise Office on Flinders Street (Public Transport available) Some travel may be required to our new Information Centre at Elliot Springs with the VSE.
