Group61 (G61) is a volunteer Befriending program that matches Friends (socially isolated people with a lived experience of mental illness) with volunteer Befrienders.

G61 Area Coordinators coordinate and support their Befrienders as they support some of our most vulnerable community members. Our Area Coordinators meet, match and provide ongoing support to all the G61 Friends and Befrienders in their region. They maintain data and actively support the promotion of the program throughout their region.

This is your opportunity to play a leading role in a grass roots community initiative, building a community of beautiful souls that through their compassion and caring offer friendship and support to people seeking to (re)build their community connections.

Due to time commitments this role would suit someone in retirement or someone that only works part time.

AC Duties include:

• Attend 3 step induction process
• Complete AC Mentoring Process
• Interview Volunteers and Friends
• Matching Friends with Volunteer Befrienders
• Offer and maintain support to Befrienders via phone
• Host regular group catch up with all Befrienders in their region
• Provide a monthly report on region to the G61 Program Coordinator 
• Promote the G61 program across your region
• Attend some of the G61 social events.
