Newlands & East Coburg Neighbourhood Houses bring people together to connect, learn and contribute in their local community through social, educational, recreational and support activities, using a unique community development approach.

We are looking for volunteers to reactivate our lovely garden. All abilities welcome! Gardening knowledge is a bonus, but not necessary.

Newlands Neighbourhood House (20 Murray Road, Coburg North, VIC).

Responsibilities

• Work with others to maintain the garden: water the garden, look after compost bins, put compost/mulch

• Willing to learn/share gardening skills.

• Get equipment from the shed and pack it away after the session. Organise tools if necessary.

• Clean up after having tea

• Make everyone feel welcome :)

Qualifications

• No qualifications are needed

• Patience and good humour.

• Respect and empathy for people from diverse backgrounds.

• A non-judgmental attitude.

• Ability to work independently.

OHS

• Use correct posture when lifting equipment. If not able to lift safely, please advise your supervisor and do not lift.

• If you see a hazard, please remove it and/or tell staff.
