Do you enjoy working in a team? This is a fantastic volunteer role with a major Health Provider. You will feel satisfaction in making a difference to patients and their families every day. It's also an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the healthcare system and patient experience and to practice your customer service skills.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Warmly greet patients and visitors
• Offer assistance in navigating the hospital
• Provide information, maps, and support to patients and visitors
• Provide companionship to patients and families during waiting periods

Skills and Experience:

• Friendly, warm and supportive
• Respectful and caring attitude
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Willingness and ability to solve problems and be flexible
• Cooperative and able to work well in a team
• Bilingual skills are valued but not essential

Induction and Training: Welcome Volunteers will be required to attend 3 Induction/Training sessions from 9.30am - 3.30pm during March 2020. In addition, Welcome Volunteers will be required to attend a half-day tour/training session each month for the first 6 months, on location in different hospital departments. Professional Development opportunities on specific topics are offered throughout each year (e.g. Wheelchair Training).
