Sydney Children's Hospital Network Biography Volunteer - Various locations - # 144720

Sydney Children's Hospital Network

You will be meeting with children and families who are referred by Palliative Care. You will attend either the family home, Bear Cottage at Manly or one of the Sydney Children's Hospitals (Randwick or Westmead) once a week for approximately 6 weeks to record a child's biography. Availability for a long term commitment and upto 5 hours per week is needed. The transcription and editing process can occur in the evenings, while the face-to-face interview will occur on a weekday (Mon-Fri between 9am-5pm) for one hour.

You need excellent interpersonal skills, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, 50 wpm typing, ability to travel to different areas within Sydney, ability to work independently and problem solve. Ability to work within an emotionally challenging setting, willing to learn new technology and software. You will be using a Dictaphone and a transcription software program.

At the present time, all interviews will be held online when further information regarding training and the role will be detailed in accordance with the prevailing Public Health Orders.
