I'm Mike, I recently started ProudRoots Inc. here in WA to 'assist and uplift' Maori, Pacific Islander and Aboriginal peoples living in our state. Collectively this group is estimated at over 150,000 people.

About ProudRoots

ProudRoots' major goal is to establish a community centre here in WA, for the benefit of WA's Maori, Pacific Islander and Aboriginal communities (despite the size of this community, there is no central community centre/meeting place). Our hope is a community centre will assist in a variety of ways to assist and uplift the people within this community. Unfortunately, Maori, Pacific Islander and Aboriginal peoples face many of the same issues regarding homelessness, mental health, substance abuse etc. We hope our community centre will be a major resource to helping to counteract these issues.

To fund this community centre ProudRoots will run ongoing raffles/lotteries. Our plan is to build up slowly overtime, but we will eventually like to raffle significant prizes such as cars, homes and major cash prizes. Through these funds we will obtain, maintain and upgrade our community centre.

We intend running our first raffle mid-January 2020.

About the position

In order to promote both our raffles and our organisation, ProudRoots is looking for marketing volunteers with a creative flair. Currently our marketing budget is $0, and so we will need to make the most of free/organic marketing methods and channels.

The role of a Marketing volunteer will be:

• Marketing volunteers will assist in creating content for Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
• Marketing volunteers will be encouraged to add their own creative ideas and input. 
• Marketing volunteers will assist in the management of social media platforms (namely Facebook and Instagram)

Given our limited budget, ProudRoots is simply going to create as much content as possible in the form of video's, photo's, articles and images. Marketing volunteers will be invited to assist in any of these area's.

This is very much a creative and fun role. With marketing volunteers in place we will establish a marketing schedule, but many of the marketing tasks I hope will be fun and enjoyable :)

Who this role is suited for

This position is most suited to younger volunteers (between 17 - 30), but please do not hesitate to apply as all applications will be reviewed and responded to. Anyone who puts their hand up to help is a hero in my books :)
