The Volunteer Retail Assistant position is located at our Penrith Store

What’s involved and how you will make a difference to Save the Children……..

There’s so much for you to get stuck into when you’re volunteering in our shops.

You'll be rolling up your sleeves in the backroom to sort, store, steam and price donations.

You will also be your friendly approachable self on the shop floor. Serving and chatting with our customers about the fabulous items we sell and tell them all about the fantastic work that Save the Children does locally, around Australia and Globally.

You will be using the cash register (don't worry, we'll show you how) and handling money.

You will be wielding a duster and vacuum in helping with daily housekeeping and using your imagination in making sure our shops, our displays, our mannequin family look appealing and at their best at all times.

Ideally, you would be available to volunteer 1 - 3 days per week, either full day (7.5 hrs) or half-day shift (4-5 hrs).

You will be; Punctual, reliable and honest. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Have a good knowledge of basic arithmetic and/or basic cash handling skills.

If you have a willingness to learn as we’ll show you what to do, we provide all the training you’ll need. And before you know it you will be part of a team, participating in all general activities whilst having fun and being in an environment that volunteers and customers will enjoy being a part of.
