Emergency Relief/Budget Worker

The volunteer role involves:

  • Interviewing clients over the phone or face to face and assessing need
  • Distributing vouchers
  • Applying for grants and additional assistance
  • Providing information about other services
  • Entering client details onto a database accurately
  • Assisting clients with creation of a basic budget

You will need to have the ability to work with vulnerable clients and families who access emergency relief and respond in a professional and empathetic manner to all clients.

Experience in the areas of counselling, community or social services background or be undertaking a similar relevant qualification or program would be beneficial to this role.
