Wishgranting Intern Starlight’s mission is to brighten the lives of seriously ill children, young people and their families. Our interns are an important part of the Starlight team. They’re a wonderful community of positive, committed people who share Starlight’s values and love to help others.

What does a wishgranting intern do ? Starlight offices are busy, vibrant workplaces and we love having interns helping us. Depending on the needs you could find yourself thinking creatively and resourcefully to develop unique wish experiences, coordinating Starlight wishes from the brief to the to the wish being granted, preparing wish itineraries, purchasing necessary wish items (online shopping yay!), liaising with the families throughout the entire process and ensuring there is open communication.. all sorts of things to ensure Starlight Children and their families to ensure they make the most of their once in a life time Starlight wish!

What skills do we look for?  

• Organisational skills with great attention to detail
• Previous administrative experience
• Plenty of initiative and willingness to help
• Positivity
• Computer literacy
• Good communications skills and phone manner

Anything else...?  Yes, and it’s important too! We’re committed to providing positive experiences in an environment that’s caring, nurturing and safe. Successful applicants will therefore undertake a Working With Children Check and a National Police Check.
