Christmas Lunch Helpers

Colony 47

On December 25th every year Colony 47, with all its fabulous volunteers, enjoys providing a traditional lunch, companionship and the spirit of Christmas for Tasmanians in need in the south of the state. We reach out to Tasmanians from September onwards asking volunteers to think of others who may not have all the trimmings of the season, who may not have a home to enjoy Christmas in, or who may be alone and not have a family or friends to go to on the day. Given our work in the community we know that Christmas can be a difficult time for some people due to reasons such as poverty, mental health issues, family violence, a relationship breakdown or homelessness. The Community Christmas Lunch is provided at no cost to the people attending and it cannot happen without the help of more than 150 volunteers including long-serving chefs and kitchen staff, waiting staff, hall set-up staff and cleaners, drivers, entertainers and Santa giving everyone a Christmas gift! We may have suitable roles in the lead of to Christmas for people who are unable to assist on December 25th.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
