Learning Club Facilitator - The Smith Family

    To ensure consistency for the participants and success of the club, the role requires a commitment of approx. 2 hours per week across a minimum of 18 weeks.

    Skills required for this position include: Good written and verbal communication; Exceptional organisational skills; friendly and positive attitude; ability to communicate well with young people; ability to work independently as well as part of a team; Excellent interpersonal skills' understanding of factors affecting students from financially disadvantaged families; sound knowledge of primary / secondary subjects area as applicable; broad understanding of the primary / secondary education system.
    Desirable: experience in volunteer management and previous experience in working with children / youth.

This role provides the opportunity to use and enhance your coordination, tutoring and relationship management skills, alongside other passionate team members. The Volunteer Learning Club Facilitator assists in the administration of the Learning Club through the coordination and ongoing support of volunteer tutors and participants, and by liaising with key stakeholders to ensure students are well supported in their educational and personal development. Through this role, volunteers provide critical, direct support for the educational and social development of disadvantaged young Australians to succeed at school, so they can create better futures for themselves.
