We're looking for an Event Office Volunteer to assist with the administration and logistics behind Starlight's signature event, The Starlight Five Chefs Dinner Brisbane 2020.

As Starlight Children’s Foundation’s signature fundraising event, the Starlight Five Chefs Dinner aims to provide our guests a true money can’t buy experience with the best of the best all in one room, with the five best chefs in each State coming together to prepare five of the best dishes matched with five of the best wines. Starlight Five Chefs provides an opportunity for Starlight to raise significant income for our programs and is a platform to introduce new and potential Starlight supporters to the cause, to build upon existing relationships and cultivate new and existing major donor relationships.

What does a Starlight Office Volunteer do? Starlight offices are busy, vibrant workplaces and we love having volunteers helping us. Depending on what needs doing and what your skills are, you could find yourself organising event logistics, helping with data entry, helping with mailouts, calling supporters, securing auction items for a fundraiser, recording minutes for a board meeting… all sorts of things.

This role will commence February 2020 in preparation for the signature event in May 2020.

In this role, you will be supporting the Brisbane Partnerships Team as they plan all logistics for the Five Chefs Dinner. This will include

  • General Event duties including but not limited to liaising with and booking event suppliers, Creation of run sheets and event briefs and Logistical arrangements for and on event day
  • Assistance with production of event and event auction materials pre, during and post event
  • Assisting to prepare for events and presentations (e.g. putting goodie bags together, creating prize certificates)
  • Assistance with collection of Auction Items and  donated goods and services (DG&S) which will support the event.
  • Collating Auction Item Vouchers and uploading them on our data base
  • Updated guest details, dietary requirements and guest numbers
  • Providing general administrative support to the team, including document preparation
  • Supporting the day of the event

**What skills do we look for? **

  • Organisational skills with great attention to detail
  • Previous/Current events study and/or administrative experience is required
  • Plenty of initiative and willingness to help
  • Positivity
  • Computer literacy  - Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Office as well as Data Management System
  • Good communications skills and phone manner

**What’s the time commitment? ** These roles are for 2 days per week for a minimum commitment of 3 months.
