State Director - VIC

Out for Australia

About us

Our mission is to provide visible role models, mentors, content and targeted support to aspiring LGBTIQ professionals and to strengthen the sense of community among professionals and students.

Our vision is to create an Australia where every LGBTIQ student and aspiring professional is confident to be their authentic self in workplaces which celebrate diversity.

About the opportunity

The State Director is responsible for leading and managing the State Team. The State Director is a people manager who grows, equips, influences and empowers their team to drive Out for Australia’s activities and programs in their state. The State Director works through their team to implement the OFA national strategy and report on state activities, primarily overseeing outreach and events within their state and collaborating with national mentor, communication and design teams, and therefore also an important member of the National Team.

The two primary functions of state Out for Australia teams are to (1) hold events in the state which showcase visible role models, thought leadership and create safe spaces for aspiring young LGBTIQ+ professionals to be their most authentic selves in the workplace, and (2) foster relationships in our state community through our outreach strategy, particularly with universities and key local community partners, both to better understand our community, and to promote Out for Australia, in order to successfully support our events and to promote our mentoring program.
