What we’re looking for It’s preferred that you have event coordination experience, strong communication skills and the ability to provide strong and consistent leadership to other volunteers. You will also have the ability to work under pressure, multi-task and think on your feet - all of which are crucial skills for this dynamic role.

This role will also involve networking with local businesses and the community, therefore confidence in approaching and working with a wide range of people, is essential. If you have an innovative personality and think that you will be able to organise a fun and vibrant event, you will certainly succeed in this role.

Volunteer role duties & responsibilities Planning and coordinating activities for the walk will include:

  • Planning and coordinating activities for the walk will include

  • Distributing marketing collateral

  • Arranging event permits

  • Recruiting and organising volunteers

  • Sourcing vendors and exhibitors for the day

  • Organising raffles and prizes

  • Co-ordinating logistics including the event set-up, equipment requirements and parking

  • Supervising at the event on the day

  • Handling funds raised and tracking finances at the event

  • Banking any funds raised the day after the event

Key Dates / Requirements • Volunteer duration: December 2020 to May 2021 • Volunteer commitment: Minimum 2 hours per week, with greater involvement in the weeks leading up to the event date • Successful applications will need to be available and commit for the 6 months and will be required to complete a Volunteer Agreement Form. • You will require a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle
