The St Vincent de Paul Society is one of the most recognised charitable organisations that offers ‘a hand up’ to people in need. We do this by respecting their dignity, sharing our hope and encouraging them to take control of their destiny by providing practical support, advocacy and friendship. Vinnies Queensland is proactive in supporting child safety.

Vinnies Youth (Paddington) is seeking Volunteer Mentors who are looking to make a real positive impact on the lives of young people in the area.

The program is an exciting mentoring experience, designed to help young people between the ages of 13-17 who may need some guidance or a positive role model in their lives.

As a Volunteer Mentor you will work as part of a close team with another mentor taking a young person out of their home environment once a fortnight to develop skills, socialise, try new experiences and to help them develop as a person, this could be taking them bowling, to a sports training session or even just going for a walk. You may also need to give them guidance and some appropriate emotional support should they need it.

There may be opportunities within the organisation to gain accredited qualifications, such as Mental Health First aid, First aid and CPR.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
