Capital Nordic Walking Community Outreach

Responsibilities and requirements include:

Arrive at Nordic Walk location 15 minutes early to welcome, acknowledge and check in with walkers.
Support warm up/briefing for new Nordic Walkers Walk at a specific location within the group (back, middle, front) or with particular people
Complete 45-60 minute moderate walk
Keep Volunteer Coordinators informed of any issues
Join the Nordic Walkers for coffee after the walk to check-in on the walkers
Attend regular coffee meetings to review the CNWCO volunteer scheme

Time required

Approximately 2 hours each walk. Exact times will be confirmed upon application. Walks are held Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays each week.

Moderate fitness level - ability to walk at a steady pace for 60 minutes Good listener and conversationalist Positive and enthusiastic Enjoy interacting with people Good communicator Working with Vulnerable People registration. If you are not registered, visit act.gov.au/wwvp and follow the prompts or visit an Access Canberra shopfront Must have a mobile phone and carry it with you during walks
