Community Bus - various roles

City of Marion

We have a need for drivers and assistants throughout the week and will soon be expanding to include evenings and weekends, so we can certainly fit around your schedule.

Monday to Friday is our regular run around key points in the Marion area, such as shopping centres, libraries and community centres. The day starts at around 8am for the first pick up and delivery and usually gets you to Cooinda in time for lunch - which we give you an allowance for. It is then off to collect everyone again and take them home, usually arriving back at the depot anywhere between 2pm and 3:30p,m.

On Tuesdays and Sundays, we run the On the Road Again program. This takes residents on a half day out to places such as McLaren Vale and Hahndorf for a bite to eat and a chat.

Wednesday evenings is our Twilight Diners program. This usually requires a 4pm bus collection to pick up residents before heading on to a local pub or restaurant for a meal and some socialising. This has been particularly popular given the traditional daytime service hours of the community bus. As with the above programs, a dinner allowance is given to our volunteers.

Lastly, we have our new initiative called Fish Feeders. We "borrow" Brighton Jetty to cast a line and see what is biting. This runs from 9:30am till 11am each Thursday and would usually see residents being picked up from 8am onward. Please be assured, no fishing expertise is needed!

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
